Store names, purchase descriptions, references, amounts, refund payments and follow-up notes are stored in the app's private storage on your device. We do not operate a server for these records, connect to your bank or inbox, or send your entered records to Google AdMob. No user account is required.
RefundTrail integrates Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform. When advertising is available, Google's SDK may collect and share IP addresses, device and advertising identifiers, app interactions and diagnostic information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. IP addresses may be used to estimate general location. Processing depends on device settings, consent and Google's services. See Google's Privacy Policy and Google's advertising information. Advertising is separate from the local refund record system.
Where required and configured, the app presents Google's consent form before requesting ads. Open Settings, Privacy & advertising, Manage advertising privacy to revisit available choices. Advertising ID controls are also available in Android settings. If ads cannot load, the record-keeping features remain available.
When you explicitly share a report, create a calendar event, print or export a file, the selected information is handed to the destination app or location you choose. Those services have their own privacy practices. Backup files and CSV exports contain your entered information in readable form; store and share them carefully. The app uses Android's document picker rather than requesting access to all your files.
Local records remain until replaced by a backup restore, removed by clearing app storage, or the app is uninstalled. Archived cases remain stored and can be reopened. Export a backup before uninstalling if you want to retain your records. Copies you export or share must be deleted separately at their destinations. Google determines retention for advertising data under its policies. Contact us for questions, but we cannot retrieve or remotely delete records stored only on your device.
The app uses Android's application storage protections. It does not claim that exported files are encrypted. RefundTrail is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in case notes.
